Abstract: This study is intended to determine whether there are differences in the competency of principals both in the aspects of knowledge and attitudes before and after the training of secondary school principals. Principal competency training is carried out by incorporating leadership values based on local wisdom. The number of samples of this study were 30 high school principals from Yogyakarta Special Province, Central Java Province, and East Java Province. Data collection was carried out by questionnaire and interview. Data analysis techniques were carried out quantitatively and qualitatively. Based on the results of data analysis, it can be concluded that there are differences in the competencies of secondary school principals in the aspects of knowledge and attitudes before and after training.
